Hi, I'm really excited to get this mod working, I nearly have it. But for some reason trams are spawning instead of secondary trains. I still see the Overhauled trains and they run on the new track you set them up for, but places like the mirror park yard, the quarry, and down by the docks only see trams. I'm sure i've followed your instructions correctly, at least for the Trains1.dat, Trains4.dat. traintracks.xml, and the Overhauled version of trains.xml. But I'm a bit confused on where to put the "scripts/Autoloadmaps" folder. I put it in the mods folder, should I be placing it somewhere else?
@walter I finally got it to work with gameconfig, but for real, everyone assumes to much, I had no clue where to put it. I finally figured out it needed to go in the "mods\update\update.rpf\common\data" folder. Once there the game runs and I see the trains, but it lags a tiny bit when loading them in.
Ok, scratch the last question, I got a gameconfig but I have no clue what it does and I can't find anything telling me how this works for your mod. If this is necessary then why isn't it in your install instructions and showing how to configure it??
2. Place the "overhauledtrains" folder into "mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\".
3. In OpenIV, navigate to "update\update.rpf\common\data\" and find "dlclist.xml".
Extract this file, and add the following line under the last item:
<Item>dlcpacks:\overhauledtrains\</Item>
Replace the file in update.rpf with the modified one.
I will mention I am using Open IV as recommended, and that I noticed Overhauled Trains folder falls into a different spot in the DLCPACKS folder now due to all the updates (somewhere in the middle due to alphabetizing), and your read me still states to place the item line of code in the DLCLIST.XML at the bottom. I don't know if this causes any issues or difference.
I am currently having an issue where I have followed the read me up to the sound file editing. My game crashes on start up now, and I can get it to stop crashing by removing the Overhauled Trains folder and correcting the edited dlclist file back to normal. I cannot get this mod to work and I'm completely confused if I've done something wrong.

I don't know anything about Custom Gameconfigs, would you recommend one?
The only other non vanilla files I have are the script hook and the native trainer that comes with it.
yes
