I have also been thinking about something. Is it possible use the switchblade mechanism to make the sightsaber activate when one grabs in. So when it hangs on your back, you only see the handle, no emissive laser. Then ZOOM as soon as one grabs it. Is that possible? If so, think that would be worth looking into.

I am not really a fan it the crossguard-look to be honest. To me it looks like they were trying very hard to come up with an original cool look, and it just kind of backfired, because it make no sense with laser crossguard. As it would cut the hands of the weilder.

@Quechus13 As a person who has been trained in using swords in real life, I know exactly how they work. One such as this one CAN be fought with, but in terms of movement against an opponent with the exact same skill, the Jedi with that crossguard will always lose (when the crossguard is a laser that will burn you, that is. Other wise you use it ALOT to lean it on the wrist for a more firm grip, and also more involvement of the wrist, so one can move the blade in a more fluid fashion. Just like a normal sword, only the guard, well guards you if their blade slide downwards. But it loses its value when you need to avoid even being near the guard at ALL times). As the guard restricts movement. Alot of the most deadly moves known in the Star Wars Universe cannot be done with this type of sabre.
But to answer your question. I am a Star-Wars fan indeed, that is how I know this sabre does not belong in the hands of someone who wants to be at their best. As it the least practical design so far in that Universe.

The fact that you compared a lightsaber to real sword makes me think you are full of bs as it's completely different.

@Quechus13 It is not completely different. Just look up the artwork of the Jedistyle and compare it to real life sword fights. If you just take away all the overly flashy moves and strength, it is exactly the same. And neither of those two, changes the fact that the handle is impractical.
