The FN 1903 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by the legendary American firearms designer John Browning and produced by the Belgian company Fabrique Nationale (FN). Introduced in 1903, it was one of the early self-loading pistols and is notable for its reliability and innovative design. The pistol uses a single-action blowback mechanism and was chambered primarily for the 9mm Browning Long cartridge. It features a manual safety, a magazine disconnect safety, and a grip safety. The FN 1903 saw widespread use in military, police, and civilian markets and was particularly popular in Europe during the early 20th century. Its design influenced many subsequent pistol models and remains a significant piece of firearm history.
